Royal Children's Hospital Project

Parkville, VIC

The $1b Royal Children’s Hospital Project achieved financial close in 2007.  The project was undertaken in 2 phases, both of which were successfully completed on time and budget. 

​

On 21 November 2007 it was announced that the Children's Health Partnership would design, build, finance and maintain the hospital for a 25-year period.

​

The new RCH:

  • has capacity to treat an additional 35,000 patients each year;

  • provides over 2,000 carparks and more than 500 bicycle spaces;

  • provides more accommodation and other facilities for parents;

  • has more play areas, better park access and expanded childcare facilities;

  • includes state of the art research and education facilities and;

  • includes a range of shops and services for staff, patients, families, carers and visitors.

 

Stephen led the bid team and was Project Director.
