Ravenhall Prison PPP

A new medium security men’s prison built at Ravenhall, in Melbourne’s west, accommodating 1,000 prisoners. The Ravenhall Prison Project is being delivered as a full service public private partnership (PPP), with the GEO Consortium being responsible for the design, construction, financing, maintenance and operation of the facility over 25 years.

GEO Consortium was selected to deliver the project following a comprehensive tender process. Major features of the project include:

built capacity for 1,300 prisoners to meet possible future demand;

a 75-bed mental health unit, together with forensic mental health services for approximately 100 other prisoners on an outpatient basis;

incentive payments for reducing reoffending across the prisoner population;

flexible prison design allowing future changes to cater for prisoners with different needs; and
-
Construction commenced in February 2015 and was completed in late 2017.
Ryan led the commercial and financial aspects of the successful bid.
