
Lake Bonney: Stage 3 Wind Farm

The 39MW Lake Bonney Stage 3 wind farm achieved financial close in 2009. The project includes 13 Vestas V90 wind turbines and a 132kV connection into the ElectraNet Network.
This was the final stage of the Lake Bonney wind farm precinct and was developed by Babcock and Brown and National Power Partners before being sold to Babcock and Brown Wind (BBW). It was initially invested on a merchant revenue basis.
The Lake Bonney Stage 3 wind farm:

has capacity to power equivalent of 18,000 SA homes per year

benefits from the strong southerly winds that come over the Woakwine range

together with stages 1 and 2 the combined Lake Bonney project is 279 MW
